Natural hair transitioning styles

I twisted my hair all over then set the twists on small rods. I wore this as a style without untwisting for a day or so but some of the curls dropped in the heat and humidity. My natural sister liked it :)
Hittin ya with some new hair pics for July. :) I am loving my progress so far. I had twists in my hair for a twistout. Forgot to take pics of the results DOH! The fro pics are after I washed my hair and applied Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In. Sorry not high quality. I need a real camera. :(
Here are the photos of my blow out. People were surprised at my actual length and so was I. Shrinkage is a apart of nappy life :)

Every since I have learned this hairstyling technique I have been hooked!! It's easy and I use what I've got and didn't have to buy anything new. I'm wearing my hair shingled as we speak..so to speak. LOL I am working on a Youtube video to show how I shingle and hopefully answer people's questions about it. I don't really see much about it on Youtube at all. Until then here are a few shots of my 1st shingling adventure.
I love my nappy head..it's so full and thick my scalp looks undercover. There's a different feeling now than when I was relaxed. I feel unrestricted and free. Wash N Go's are my best friend. I've never had a closer connection with my conditioner. My waves make me seasick. My curls are like little slinkies, springy and bendy and such. I feel like Samson, my hair is tied to my strength. I love pulling my spirals and watching them snap back into place. A headband is a lifesaver. I just laugh when people ask "Is that a jheri curl?" Or "How do you get your hair like that?". :) But even in all this Nappy bliss it does have its' downsides. Sometimes my comb and I do not get along. I am haunted by the curse of shrinkage. I have to beware of knots and tangles even more now. They like to sneak up on me. Sometimes I look at relaxed heads and I miss the slipage and the swangability. (copyright 2009) But I'm never tempted to cross back over to the other side. I've got too much versatility to lose. I imagine the day when my curls will cascade down my back like a glorious lion's mane. I foresee buns, chignons, twists, big bushy puffs and rollersets. I can't wait for my super fro to come. Until then I'll just chill with my TWA. I wanna live Nappily ever after.
